Carol here, and I love hockey goalies. Simple as that. I started with a blogger site (ilovegoalies.blogspot.com) where I post articles along with the photos. And then I thought, why not branch out to a different audience on tumblr, so here I am. I especially focus on their masks, because I find them fascinating.
This site will be lots of photos of the goalies...mostly NHL, but others will make appearances too. José Theodore will always be my favorite, but I try not to play favorites on here. ;)
That latest set was from Corbis Images. I’ll look there for photos also, because their watermark is much less intrusive. Just, again, not as big of selection.

See, like this one. That is an awesome shot of his pads, but that watermark just ruins it.
If anyone would like a photoset of Mason with watermarks, go ahead and like this post, and I’ll make one. I just don’t want to waste the time if no one wants to see those watermarks.
See, for someone like Mason who didn’t get as many starts, Zimbio hardly had any photos. Even if the goalies didn’t play a whole lot, Getty always has bunches. This sucks…
But I’ll stop whining about it now.

Using Zimbio, my selection of photos is diminished a lot, but I can at least find some. So I’m sorry if the photosets are skimpier than the previous ones. If anything changes with the Getty watermark, then I’ll redo these.

I found that Zimbio has some of the Getty Images, so I hopefully can find enough to muddle through. I’ll look into that later…I need to earn my paycheck for now. ;)
My photosets of the NHL goalies are on hold because of the change in Getty Images. They now have the watermark on their photos even for registered users. So I can’t get the photos I’ve always gotten without this watermark.
I’m not thrilled with the idea of posting photos that look like this, so I’m really not sure about the future of this blog.
Maybe the watermark wouldn’t bother most of you, but I’m just afraid it’s not going to be the same.
There will be a few that I can get from NHL.com each game, but the selection will be very small.
So if you’re wondering what happened to my series of photosets…this is what happened.
I fully understand that these photos are not mine to do with as I please, so I’m not complaining about that…I’m just explaining why things are on hold and I’m not sure what I’ll do in the future yet. There are other places to find photos, but the selection won’t be as great.
